This is a step that I always try to do but never really manage to do.
Eat Good Food – I always try but don’t seem to have much will power when it comes to carbs, fatty foods, sugar and chocolate. So everything that is bad for you basically. I have been making an effort to eat healthier now that Lily is eating too but I think I need to make more of a conscious effort to make better choices.
Drink Water – this is another one that I struggle with. When I was working I kept a 1.25lt bottle on my desk and it became an almost unconscious habit to pick it up and drink it. Now that I am home all the time I find it hard to get in to a new habit. I read a great post on The Organised Housewife, which I believe was first mentioned by FlyLady; it says to keep hair ties on your water bottle. You then move or remove one hair tie each time you refill your bottle. I also have an app on my iPhone that you can record how much water you drink. I used it when I first downloaded it but started to forget to fill it out. I’m going to have to start using both these ideas and see how I go. I’ll also add it to my morning routine.
Get Your Rest – yeah, obviously I struggle with this one. I either get no enough sleep or way too much. Since I have been going to bed before midnight and getting up earlier in the morning it has been a lot better. Although this weekend has thrown that a bit out of whack. It will be good to get back in to a routine.

Nothing much to report today as it was mostly spent driving the 8 hours back home. The babies were really good and slept most of the way. As you can see above, Lily had a pretty nice set up with a portable DVD player that my parents loaned her – she watched the cartoon version of “The Wizard of Oz” occasionally during the drive.
Once I got home I had planned to put together our weekly plan and meal plan but was just too tired. I will have to do it tomorrow.
