I’ve decided to spread some love around (and perhaps gain a few sneaky followers ) by doing a weekly feature on some of the blogs I love to read. Some are housework related, most are not.
Eden Riley from Edenland could be called “inspirational”. But I think she’d prefer “kickarse”. She’s honest, she’s a bit crazy and she’s raw. Plus, she’s a fellow redhead. We gingers have to stick together. Her “Who is Edenland?” page probably says the most about her, in much better words than I could ever use. Eden sums up her blog perfectly on her Media & PR page:

I think the first post I discovered of Eden’s was this one – “Every Little Thing”. And what a post to start with! Eden’s husband was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. Only 2 months earlier her friend Vee’s husband was also diagnosed. Eden’s husband’s cancer is now in remission, Vee’s husband wasn’t so lucky. He passed away in May last year. Cancer sucks.
Eden hated the artwork in the cancer ward, said it was depressing and inappropriate. Vee’s husband was an artist so Eden & Vee decided they were going to do something about the woeful artwork situation on the ward, and do something they did. In they waltzed with armfuls of paintings, hooks and no permission. That’s what I call ballsy.
Eden was chosen to read this post at the recent BlogHer Conference in America recently. Watch the video. I cried when I first read the post and I cried watching that video. And I don’t normally cry at things I read/watch on the internet.
