No this wasn’t on last week’s meal plan! My very gourmet dinner from the night that Lily stayed at her Granny & Poppy’s house for the first time by herself last week.

Please let me know if you use it and what you think! If you have any requests or suggestions I’d love to hear them.

    Meal Plan:

    ——————
♥ Monday – Thai Coconut Fish Stew
♥ Tuesday – Curried Sausages with Brown Rice
♥ Wednesday – Dinner at the pub?
♥ Thursday – Lenard’s Chicken Kievs with Mash & Veggies
    ♥ Friday – Garnet Pilaf
♥ Saturday – Baby Mac’s Spanish Chorizo Chicken
    ♥ Sunday – Takeaway

Some of these meals may look familiar – our plans got changed around a little last week so some of the meals have been moved on to this week’s meal plan. Lily ended up staying Wednesday night at Granny & Poppy’s for the first time by herself. Everyone was fine but it was awfully quiet here by myself. Mr Monkey and I then joined her on Thursday, Mr Monkey went back to work on Friday and my mum drove Lily and I home on Saturday. So that’s 2 meals that we didn’t end up making which have been moved on to this week.

I have the last week of my Buddhism course this week. I’m thinking of doing a post about it soon – just a few things I’ve learnt and how they are helping me. Please let me know if you have any issues with me discussing this.

I know we had Chicken Kievs on last week’s meal plan but we actually had Chicken Cordon Bleus – they weren’t marked so I wasn’t sure which ones they were. So looks like we’re having the Kievs this week!

I’m trying two new recipes this week – Garnet Pilaf and Baby Mac’s Spanish Chorizo Chicken. The Garnet Pilaf looks like a great vegetarian meal and I’ve been wanting to try Beth’s chicken for ages.

I haven’t done any baking in a while and although I don’t really have an “excuse” to bake this week I really want to. I’m sure I can think up an excuse!

I’m not 100% sure what I’ll bake – I’m thinking either Baby Mac’s Cinnamon Tea Cake or Veggie Mama’s Rapsberry and White Chocolate Scones. I have everything in the house for either one except for the white chocolate so that could possibly be the deciding factor… or maybe I’ll just make both!

What’s on your meal plan this week??

  2. Meal Plan ★ 25th June – 1st July, 2012

We had lunch with Glowless from Where’s my Glow and “Real Jive Turkey” from Arm Yourself Today and a heap of other great bloggers yesterday at Bungalow 8.

    Meal Plan:

    ——————
    ♥ Monday – Dinner at Grandma & Grandad’s
♥ Tuesday – Chicken Kievs, Cous Cous & Veggies
♥ Wednesday – Dinner at the pub
♥ Thursday – Silverside, White Sauce, Mash & Veggies
♥ Friday – Curried sausages and brown rice
♥ Saturday – Smoky Leek Risotto
♥ Sunday – Thai Coconut Fish Stew

Won’t be a long post today – I’ve done something to my back and am not really in the mood to write (I’m typing this Saturday night). Not sure what I’ve done to my lower back. It’s possibly from sitting for mediation; I’m not really used to sitting up straight without my back supported. Need to work on that!

We were supposed to have the chicken kievs last week but ended up at the in-laws for dinner so we’re having them this Tuesday. We’ve got a few meals with mashed potatoes this week so I decided to pair it with some cous cous.

I picked up a piece of silverside last week from the butcher so will try slow cooking that on Thursday. I wasn’t very happy with it last time I did it so am looking for a better recipe.

I’ve had a hankering for my curried sausages lately and I picked up 2kgs of sausages for cheap so will be having them on Friday. I’d normally serve it with mash but am serving it this week with rice – probably brown rice we have in the cupboard.

The Smoky Leek Risotto sounds interesting and I’ll just need to pick up some leeks later in the week. The Thai Coconut Fish Stew was shared with me by the lovely Alyce. It’s not something I normally like but I’m actually really excited to try it!
